Two ways to join:
- Download and complete this PDF application and then mail, email or fax it to Texas Legal using the contact information at the top of the form.
- Join online at www.texaslegal.org. Be sure to identify Texas Public Employees Association under Group II: Association/Affiliation or Other Group. Also, please note that the rates shown online are $1 less than the TPEA rates because the TPEA policy includes an administrative rider (explained below).
Why is it important to identify TPEA?
An Administrative Rider provides coverage on behalf of the Named Participant. Texas Legal agrees to pay on an indemnity basis, legal fees incurred by the Named Participant arising from an administrative hearing in connection with the Named Participant’s employment with the state specifically involving either a demotion and/or decrease in salary, or termination of employment. The maximum amount Texas Legal is obligated to pay in any one Policy Year in connection with a work-related administrative hearing, as specified herein, is three thousand dollars ($3,000). An administrative hearing need not be completed during the same Policy Year, however, the continuation beyond the Policy Year shall not increase Texas Legal maximum obligation of three thousand dollars ($3,000) for any one event to which such proceedings relates.
